Executive Director

Picture of Virginia Moore I am Virginia Moore and I serve as the Executive Director here at KCDHH. I have worked at KCDHH since 1995, serving first as the Executive Director's interpreter and then as the State Interpreter Administrator. My main duties now include oversight of various projects at KCDHH, technology, including videoconferencing and production of DeaFestival. I come from a large Deaf family, and hold certification from both RID and NAD (CI/CT and NAD V). I hope to see you all at DeaFestival!

Picture of Leslie RickettsHello, I am Leslie Ricketts, Executive Secretary II as of December 2009. I live in Lexington, KY with my wonderful husband. I have two children whom I am very proud of, my daughter, Kerstin, who is a dental hygienist and my son, Jeremy, who graduated from KSD in 2008 and currently attends Bluegrass Community Technical College. I graduated from Bluegrass Community Technical College and continue to further my education. I am very excited about working for KCDHH and being part of the team. One of my goals is to become fluent in ASL and obtain my certification.


Office of Administrative Support

Picture of Derek Drury I am Derek Drury, Interpreter I at KCDHH. I have worked here since 2007. I learned sign language from a friend's parents who are deaf. With their encouragement, I became a sign language interpreter. My responsibilities at KCDHH include providing interpreting services for staff, planning meetings, compiling quarterly reports, and working with the Executive Director and Deputy Executive Director on any additional assigned projects and research. I live in Frankfort with my wonderful family and I enjoy working for the deaf and hard of hearing community.


Picture of Row Holloway I am Rowena (Row) Holloway, Internal Policy Analyst III at KCDHH and I have worked here since 1998. My duties include monitoring contracts, regulations and legislation for the agency, researching new technology for the TAP, completing technical writing assignments, and assisting with the production of DeaFestival. I hold a BA degree from Eastern KY University and obtained temporary licensure as an interpreter in KY in March 2008. I hope to obtain National certification within the next three years. I live on a farm in Willisburg and love working for KCDHH and the community.

 

Picture of Rachel Morgan I am Rachel Morgan, Executive Staff Interpreter. My main duties are providing interpreting services for the Executive Director and managing the financial aspects of the agency. I started working at KCDHH in 2003 and I come from a deaf family. I hold an NAD Level IV and a NIC certification. I reside in Frankfort have a wonderful daughter, Kallie.

Picture of Rachel Payne I am Rachel Payne, Interpreter Referral Specialist. I came to KCDHH in August 2006 after graduating from the Interpreter Training Program at the University of Louisville. I was born in Maryland; but I grew up in Louisville. I am a child of Deaf parents, who are very proud that I work at KCDHH. My responsibilities include scheduling interpreters for state agencies and coordinating the National Interpreter Certification (NIC) testing opportunities. I love being part of the KCDHH staff!

 

Picture of Cole Zulauf I am Cole Zulauf, Document Processing Specialist III at KCDHH. I have been involved with the agency since its founding back in 1982, as a former Commissioner as well as a volunteer. I joined KCDHH full-time in February 2008. I process documents and applications relating to the Telecommunications Access Program (TAP). I live in Lexington with my wife of 47 years.

 

Picture of Wilma Wright I am Wilma (Billie) Wright, Administrative Specialist II at KCDHH. I have been in State Government since 1986 and with KCDHH since 2000. As the "front-line" KCDHH employee, I am the person you speak with when you call the agency. I'm studying American Sign Language to improve my signing skills and enjoy working at KCDHH.

Picture of Anita Dowd I am Anita Dowd, Information Office Supervisor here at KCDHH. I attended Gallaudet University and graduated from Eastern Kentucky University. I came to KCDHH in 1998 and my duties include researching and answering all requests for Information, Advocacy and Referrals to other agencies. I also maintain the Resource Library and issue the quarterly Newsletter for KCDHH. I have two beautiful daughters.

 

Picture of Craig Lemak I am Craig Lemak, Information Program Coordinator, and I joined the team at KCDHH in July 2007. My primary function is researching and answering multiple requests on information, advocacy, and referrals of deaf and hard of hearing issues to other agencies and consumers. My other duties include the resource library, workshops, and assisting in public events. I received my MA in counseling with a focus in rehabilitation counseling from the University of Tennessee in Knoxville. I enjoy working for the deaf and hard of hearing community. I live in Louisville with my wife Jamie.

 

Picture of Craig Lemak I am Opeoluwa Sotonwa, Information Program Coordinator. My duties here comprise but are not limited to building a strong and viable information network for the deaf and hard of hearing Kentuckians. Researching and handling requests as well as making appropriate referrals. Representing the Commission and working with other colleagues to empower deaf and hard of hearing Kentuckians. Prior to joining KCDHH, I was involved in disability rights advocacy in Africa and have authored several literary works which focus on the plight of deaf and hard of hearing individuals in society. I received my LLM (Master of Laws) from the Howard University School of Law in Washington DC, with a concentration on International Comparative law and Disability Rights Law. I’m happy to join this wonderful group of dedicated professionals.

 

Information Technology

Picture of Jim Rivard I am Jim Rivard, Network Analyst II. I joined KCDHH in February 2008. I am originally from New York, but I attended and graduated from MSSD in Washington, D.C. I then attended Gallaudet, Eastern Kentucky and Wichita State universities. I am currently living in Richmond with my wife and two children. My responsibilities at KCDHH entail the management of the internal network, the Web server and Web site, computers, and videoconferencing equipment. I am also involved with researching available technology for the deaf and hard of hearing.
